I want to make clear that my problem with the stem raiser is mine, not Bikesmiths. The stem raiser arrived on time, was exactly as described, and seems to be of good quality.
I’m struggling to adapt a trekking bar to an older Kona mountain bike, and have problem due to the significantly shorter bar- to-seat distance with this bar. The stem extender was my last desperate attempt to find a stem-bar-steering tube combination that could do it. I’ve decided the combination of stem, stem raiser and bar is just too ungainly (and ugly) to be acceptable.
At some point I may try it, but I think I just may be on the wrong track here. Four inches more is a lot of stem rise, but I don’t think it will get me out of the wierd position I’m in when I use the bar.
Not their fault, but not the solution, either.
