Sram gives you a wide range cassette, but it works with normal splined freehub bodies. There's no need for a special XD freehub. To accommodate the standard freehub diameter, there's one less tooth on the smallest cog, which is almost negligible for your hardest off road gearing. You still get the 50t bailout gear, as well as the patented PowerGlide II enhanced tooth profile and quicker ramp design that work together to provide smoother and quicker transitions between gears. Made of all steel cogs to keep the cost lower and improve durability. The steel construction is so tough that the cassette is rated for eBike-MTB applications also
