(GOLD CLEAT ONLY) If you look closely, you'll notice that each cleat has a L or an R on it. Installing the R on the right shoe will make a 15 degree release angle (for a quicker release), while having the R cleat on the left shoe will be a 20 degree release angle (requiring more ankle movement to release from the pedal).
