If you are riding on the sand, hardpack dirt, or pavement, the multi-grooved tread will provide good traction and excellent grip. At 1080 grams, there are few tires on the market that are as equally light, or that can offer the same rolling speed. Save your knobs for the dirt but put on these guys for your fast urban travel.
A note about Fat Tires - This tire is very wide. Most standard mountain bikes and rims will not accept this tire. Fits Fat Bike Frames only.
I bought these tires to have a light fast alternative to knobby tires for a long distance road race on fat bikes. I specifically ordered these because they advertise a lightweight 1080gr tire with 120 TPI casing. The tires showed up with confusing contradictory packaging showing 60 TPI. I weighed the tires and they are 1380gr each. That is almost an extra pound and a half over the advertised weight! This also makes me also believe that they are not a 120 TPI casing. I mounted them up and they do roll pretty fast, but the extra 1.5 pounds isn't going to help when I hit the hill climb section of the race! I am pretty disappointed to specifically seek something out for its specs, and order it only to receive something that is very different than claimed. Not sure what is happening at Origin 8 and Vee tire!
Quiet, fast rolling tire. Great for paved or hard pack surfaces.
Easy rolling and still provide a nice grip on the road! Get them!
